Justine M. Crowling is a writer, editor, and content and digital marketing strategist with more than a decade of experience shaping brand storytelling in higher education. She currently serves as Director of Content and Creative at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, where she leads editorial, digital marketing, design, and brand initiatives, and is editor-in-chief of Tuck Today magazine.
Her work has appeared in the Valley News, the Hartford Advocate, Here in Hanover magazine, Image Magazine, the Quechee Times, and other regional publications. At Tuck, she has developed and executed digital marketing and brand campaigns, and has directed and edited hundreds of videos that bring faculty research, alumni impact, and student stories to life.
Before joining Dartmouth, she worked as an editor at a small publishing company in Woodstock, Vermont.
She holds a master’s degree in liberal studies with a concentration in creative writing from Dartmouth’s Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies, as well as a certificate in creative writing from Oxford University’s Exeter College. During graduate school, she served as editor of Clamantis, Dartmouth’s graduate literary magazine, where she led a full redesign and expanded its reach to alumni. Her undergraduate degree is in communications, journalism, and media arts from Westfield State University.
In addition to her professional work, Justine is the author of three novellas, a collection of poems, and a screenplay—all in the editing and preparation stages for publication. Her creative writing often explores sense of place, particularly her home region of rural New England, and weaves in themes of nature, memory, mortality, and resilience—with a dash of humor.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and foraging for mushrooms, cooking creative vegetarian and vegan meals, reading horror novels, and sketching and painting. She lives in Maine with her husband Keith, son Charlie, and a menagerie of animals.
